Marlies was a dream to work with. She did my bridal hair and make up, and also make up for our mothers and 14 year old. She is so lovely and took the time to find out the look I wanted and executed it perfectly. At my trial she listened to my feedback and made the small changes I requested. On the wedding day she was punctual, professional and put everyone at ease. She worked with everyone to make sure they were happy, and reapplied lippy to everyone just before she left. I couldn’t recommend Marlies highly enough! She did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I was so happy with how everything turned out. I don’t often have my hair or makeup professionally done, so I really wanted to still feel like myself, just a little more polished, and Marlies absolutely nailed it.

She listened to exactly what I wanted and created such a beautiful, natural makeup look, and my hair was exactly how I had pictured it. Everything lasted beautifully throughout the entire day and night too!

From the moment she arrived, she brought such a warm, calming and beautiful energy to the morning. Marlies did my bridal hair and makeup, as well as my mum’s and my best friend's make up, and she made all three of us feel so incredibly special and beautiful.

She was so patient, kind and attentive, constantly checking in on us and making sure we felt comfortable. She went above and beyond with every little detail, including keeping an eye on our makeup and giving us beautiful touch-ups throughout the morning. I felt absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day, and it meant so much knowing my mum and best friend felt just as beautiful.

I recently got married in Coolum and was very lucky to have Marlies transform my hair and make-up into the most beautiful version I have seen myself in. I seriously could not stop looking in the mirror! Before I met Marlies in person, we had gone over the style I was looking for, and based off my ideas, she really made magic happen. I was not from the Sunshine Coast, so working from my hotel was absolutely no fuss, as Marlies had everything you could possibly need, with her. She was very prompt and I felt so incredibly relaxed in her presence, at times, forgetting I was about to get married! Marlies is very experienced- it was clear to see. She checked for my approval/ideas throughout the whole appointment before moving on to the next part of applying make-up and hair styling. The result was so much better than I had envisioned. I would highly recommend Marlies for anything make-up or hairstyle related. Marlies was a dream to work with! She did hair and make up for me and my mum on my Wedding Day. I had a trial with her at her home and she was very accomodating. She talked me through all that she was doing, took into account any worries or requests I made and was more than happy to make any adjustments that I wanted. On the day of my wedding she was a lovely calming energy to have around and made the morning as smooth as possible. I was so happy with the final product of my natural soft glam make up and lovely sleeked up do with a gorgeous bun. Marlies is EXCEPTIONAL both as a person and a makeup artist. She handled 2 completely different looks for both myself and my wife on our wedding day this August and we looked stunning!
Doing hair & makeup for 2 lesbian brides in under 5 hours is honestly such an impressive feat.

As the mother of the groom, you don't often get the "mother of the bride" experience—but thanks to Makeup by Marlies, that's exactly what I had!

I organised a morning of hair and makeup for my mum, sister, nieces and daughter-in-law, and it became one of the highlights of the wedding day.
